This orphanage is located in Armenia, Araratskiy region, village of Nor-Harberd. There are 242 orphans, including 107 girls and 135 boys. 26 children were committed to this orphanage during the past 5 years.
All children are disabled with different type diseases: childhood paralysis, phenolketonuria with Down syndrome, hereditary diseases and mucopolysaccharidosis.
STATEMENT OF NEED
There are 5 buildings on the lot of the orphanage. All buildings are in a state of dangerous disrepair. The buildings of the orphanage are twice overcrowded with kids. The entire heating system needs to be fixed for better heating and providing of hat water. The new internal plumbing, new fences, the glass windows, and the roof should be installed. There is in the plan to put sun batteries on the roof of the main building.
It's very poor clothes and shoes supply for the kids, and they have shortage in warm seasonal coats and boots for autumn, winter and spring. By the data received from the orphanage only 60% of the needed amount of clothes is provided.
There is a substantial shortage of furniture, television, dishes, toys, computers, games, lines, towels, and sanitary products.
